A must read! Couldn’t have said it better.
It is everyone’s responsibility to take action to save our planet. Our planet beginning with you — Karli Steenkamp / Mom, Wife, Life
“Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.” – Carol Burnett
As noted in previous posts, perspective can change everything. All of us are only human, and no one is perfect. Still, you have to wonder, how can some people be so unbelievably cruel? I mean, I brake for squirrels! All of the mass shootings happening around the country, who could do something like that? I know you can relate; I can’t imagine wanting to harm any animal, let alone another person. Of course, some people out there just aren’t in their right mind, and so there is no rational explanation for their behavior.
Of course, everyone is ‘wired’ differently, a result of genetics, environment, and past experiences. These different factors accumulate and produce an individual (each of us) that is different from any other. This has far-reaching effects.
And there’s the human brain. I’m no expert, and I don’t claim to be. The human brain has been the subject of countless studies, with many, many people wondering how it works, how we work. The human brain is very complex, too much so for this post. I will say, though, that, through all medical advances, we still don’t know all that much about how the brain works (aka there is a lot to be discovered), and it’s possible that violent people can have different brain wave patterns and other intricacies.
So, in summary, we still don’t know precisely how people can be so cruel (other than violence for violence’ sake). Also, we can’t change other people, only ourselves. So our best bet is to try our very best to counter all the evil in this world with as much good as possible. If you have something to add to this discussion, feel free to let me know in the comments!
Awesome post, very inspiring, couldn’t have said it better myself! Felt the need to share.
